Situation

Whitehall Place is an 8-storey office building in London. The building’s glazing needed upgrading in order to reduce heat gain and energy consumption, and to meet with Carbon Reduction Plan targets. As a listed building, it needed a solution to upgrade the glazing without impacting the aesthetics of the building.

Solution

LLumar VS 60 SR CDF was specified to upgrade the glazing, to reduce heat gain without changing the appearance of the building. The film was chosen for its spectrally selective technology allowing good visible light transmission with high solar energy rejection.

The window film is expected to reject up to 54% of solar energy, helping reduce heat build-up and reduce energy consumption, and improve occupant comfort.
